The primary goal of the Green Schools – Blue Waters project is to increase statewide collaboration among environmental education partners and related professional organizations. This collaboration will aid in the promotion of meaningful watershed experiences and the connections of watersheds to best sustainable practices in schools throughout the commonwealth. The project is supported by a grant from the 2013 National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Chesapeake Bay Watershed Education and Training.
The Green Schools – Blue Waters project will:
- Convene an advisory group of educators and environmental experts on a quarterly basis
- Provide environmental education through webinars
- Work with the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Standards Aligned System (SAS) to advance communication and share resources among educators, administrators, community partners and families
- Strengthen school and community partnerships in environmental education
Green Schools – Blue Waters is a project of the Center for Schools and Communities, a division of the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit, a Pennsylvania educational service agency.
